5 Simple Farmhouse Bathroom Tips
1. Re-paint your vanity and add new knobs

It’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do. While waiting to remodel the whole bathroom, we didn’t want to switch out the vanity and countertops yet, so I needed to do something. So, we decided to just paint the vanity and add new knobs and it made a world of a difference. Before, it was a dark brown walnut. It just looked outdated and scuffed up. The stain was chipping and the vanity looked so old and worn. It only took one afternoon to paint this vanity and we also painted the medicine cabinet the same day. This simple task gave the vanity a fresh clean look. The paint is a custom color- Behr Chalk Paint. The paint went on so smoothly and then the top coat glaze gave it such a pretty sheen. It is very easy to keep clean with the new paint job. We have never used gold knobs before and we LOVE them. They are beautiful and affordable. The gold knobs are from Amazon.
2. Add some new wall art

Once again, this is something very simple that you can do that will change up your space. This is a very small bathroom with just one wall to decorate, besides the wall with the vanity/toilet. So, we chose wall art from Hobby Lobby that compliments the wallpaper. The wall art has the same flowers and stems in it that the wallpaper has. The color is such a soft, pretty green. The wall art is trimmed in a beautiful rich medium brown frame. The colors in this wall art compliment the vanity so well also. If we would have known the difference this could make, we would have done it much sooner.
3. Fresh decor for your vanity counter

To keep it simple in your bathroom you don’t have to do much. We love this hand towel hanger from Target. It is sturdy and we have used it for about three years now. Then we always have some greenery and a seasonal sign on the countertop. We have a stash of different pieces of greenery we like to switch out and our decorative signs. The majority of our signs come from Tj Maxx or Marshall’s. They have a great section for all seasonal decor. You can also find such cute decorative signs from Hobby Lobby. We love to decorate with cute yet affordable decor. The greenery always softens up any space.

4. Add a new farmhouse style light fixture

Replacing an outdated light fixture does wonders to a room. This industrial light fixture from Amazon gave this bathroom a whole new feel. It is the perfect size for a small bathroom. The lighting is soft, but just enough for a guest bathroom. We love the look of this particular light fixture. You can put a more decorative bulb in this type of light fixture. This bathroom also has ceiling mount that provides extra lighting if needed.
5. Make an accent wall with wallpaper

You could do this to create an accent wall or wallpaper your whole bathroom. Peel and stick wallpapers are a great option if you know that you just want a short and temporary change. It is easy to remove, so you aren’t making a lifetime commitment. It completely changed the look of the bathroom. We chose this because of the beautiful colors. It has a mixture of greens and blue greens that work perfect with the color of the vanity. This was the first time we had used wallpaper in this bathroom. This made me want to use wallpaper in other places in my home. This was very easy to apply to the wall. We waited too long to spruce up this guest bathroom. We are looking forward to getting to do a total remodel on this bathroom. Until we can, we are going to enjoy the changes we were able to make at this time.
