This post is all about farmhouse guest bedroom.
Guest Bedroom Must-Haves
1. Platform Bed
You want to make sure that your guest bedroom feels cozy from the moment they walk in. We think that an easy way to do that is the choice of bed frame you choose. When picking your bed frame this is the time to set the tone of the rest of the room.
We chose this platform bed from Target because it gives the feeling of glamorous and elegance. We love the combination of the upholstery and the wooden base. This bed has a sophisticated style that adds charm and just a warm, inviting feeling.
We love the charm and character this bed provides for the rest of the bedroom. The upholstery immediately brings in a cozy feeling.
2. Heathered Area Rug
Adding a rug under the bed will add so much warmth and style to the room. Most farmhouse homes have wooden floors, but still want the cozy feeling in a room. It will definitely make your guest will more at home.
The rug we picked is a heathered rug that is full of fun, texture, softness, and tassels. It’s a great rug that will go with almost any decor and be soft when your guest feet hit the floor.
We love the added coziness and warmth a rug brings to the room. We particularly love this rugs colors with the platform bed, keeping soft, warm tones.
3. Nightstands
If your room is big enough, then most definitely you want a nightstand on each side of the bed. When you are decorating your guest room you don’t have to do too much. You don’t want this cluttered, but you do want them to have a place to put their things they brought with them. So, a nightstand that is big enough for a table lamp, greenery, and their things is the perfect size. Not too small, but not too big that it looks bare. We hope we didn’t’ complicate things there.
We love this nightstand. We love the wood that accents the bed frame base, we love that it has open shelves to stack some books and greenery, and also love that there’s enough room on top of the nightstand for a lamp, clock, etc.
This piece has so much charm. Putting it in a guest room is perfect because you are just staging a room that your guest feels comfortable in. No need to have a nightstand with deep drawers, because what they bring will go back with them. No need to store things away and allow clutter.
4. Table Lamp
Having matching table lamps for your nightstands is a must. It will be charming to walk into and it will accommodate their needs. Leave your favorite book and they can sit up and read and have the light to do so.
We chose these glass sphere mini lamps to add some modern touch to the room. We thought it was so cute and would be a perfect lamp to break away from the wooden nightstands. The gold touch bringing in more tone and warmth.
5. Colorful Comforter
So, if you haven’t noticed yet we have been keeping the theme of neutral color tones, but this is why. Keeping your main pieces, basic, allows you to have fun with the additional pieces. You may have seasonal bed comforters that you can easily switch in and out with the other pieces in your bedroom, and it makes things easy and interchangeable.
We chose is beautiful light teal green from the Studio McGee collection. It’s a soft, pop of color that keeps the softness in the room. It works beautifully with the color scheme and style. It also will be gorgeous up against the upholstered bed frame, making it pop even more.
6. Knit Throw
Having extra throw blankets on hand is great for your guest bedroom. Just in case your guest gets chilly having the option of an extra blanket is perfect to have. You can stash them in the closet or a quick grab, but you can also add another touch to your bed.
We love accommodating your guest with another blanket but also being able to do it in style. You have seen before the folded blankets at the end of the bed for an addition look of charm. We love it too! It’s so easy to do and can make your room look even cozier. A word we’ve used quite a bit already.
7. Accent Stools
Ok, we have the basics out of the way and now we get to start adding the extra touches that make them glad that they chose to stay with you and not at the hotel down the street, or for us in a completely other town.
We love the added look; these accent stools bring to the room. We love to put two side by side at the end of the bed. It just adds more charm to the room and is a place they can put more things they may have brought.
Another idea that we love is putting together a basket to put on one with all the extra things that they could have possibly forgotten. You could put a couple of extra towels, travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, and an extra hair dryer. While you’re at it go ahead and throw some chocolates in. We love this added touch that will make your guest feel thought of and cared for.
8. Luggage Rack
Here’s another added bonus for your guest. Now this isn’t a have to especially if you have some accent stools they could also use, but it is going the extra mile. Having a luggage rack for your guest that you could put at the end of the bed or tucked away in the closet that they could use. It’s just the little things that we don’t think of that would be beneficial to them, and not to mention, it’s cute!
9. Throw Pillows
If it’s not cozy enough already let’s just keep adding to the fun and throw in some throw pillows. We want the bed to be full and complete, lacking nothing. So go ahead and dress up your bed really good.
In the comforter there is a gray trim around the edges that would look great with these large throw pillows side by side, then you can add in some texture and design.
With all of the natural color tones we are just adding some pattern while keeping to the color scheme. We would put these in front of the large gray pillows, two side by side. Then we would end with a single pillow at the end. You can play around with colors, and patterns. Have fun with it and mess with it until you get it just how you like it.
10. Faux Tree
We love adding a faux tree to a room. It just makes the room come to life. It’s something that doesn’t take up much space and you can easily put in one of the corners of the room. You want your farmhouse guest bedroom to feel good when you walk in and having a cute corner space will help do that.
The work is done for you, it already comes in a cute pot. You don’t have to worry about it needing water but may just dust it off every once in a while. That’s our kind of plant!
11. Flower Arragements
We are wrapping things up and just adding the small final touches. They may be small, but they make a difference. Adding some flowers and greenery to your nightstands and trays will make the room that much sweeter. It’s the little things in life, remember?
Another option would be this cute, potted succulent plant. It would look so cute on a stack of books, by itself on the nightstand or on the open shelves.
Well, we hope that we were able to inspire you today! We love decorating a cute, homey farmhouse guest bedroom that we know our guest will love. It’s our way to express our love for them during their stay, hoping that just maybe it will make them want to stay a little bit longer.
