For a lot of people, it may be the only time out of the whole year that you get your whole family together. So, we want to help make sure that your exterior is as ready as your interior.
We are going to share with you what we used this year to get our porch ready for the holiday! No matter what style of home you have, all of these things will work. We also love that our decor is interchangeable. Everything that we are using on the outside this year could also easily be used inside as well. The trees, lanterns, sled, etc.
There are so many different things and styles. We find it easiest when we see what someone else has done and just let our inspiration grow from there. Outdoor Christmas Decorations
Front Door Rug
For Thanksgiving we went with a brown and white plaid outdoor rug and loved it! So, this was a no brainer for us. We wanted to do the same for Christmas too! So, we went with this adorable red and white buffalo check rug. It’s a 26×40″ and comes in a multitude of colors. We love adding pattern in places that won’t take away from other pieces of decor. We feel like the rug is the perfect place to do so!
Door Mat
When we saw this doormat, we knew we had to have it. Our home is a farmhouse style, so we felt like this was a perfect fit. The wording, lights, and different styled trees. It all just makes for a fun and inviting mat. We also thought the little bit of red on the mat would really pop even more with our red checkered rug. It turned out just like we had hoped! This company also has 12 other styles of mats. They are all so cute and unique!
Artificial Cedar Trees
Artificial cedar trees are something that we’ve always loved seeing on other people’s porches, but had never tried for ourselves. Well, that’s until this year. We went with these 4-foot cedar trees and love how they turned out! They added so much filler and life to our porch. I don’t know why we haven’t done it sooner. We chose these because of how popular they were on Amazon and they didn’t disappoint. Our Christmas porch will never go without trees again. They are also some of the most affordable trees we have seen! That’s always a bonus!!
Tall Black Metal Candle Lanterns
Okay! We got these same lanterns in the smaller size for our Thanksgiving decor and LOVED them. We loved them on our porch and mantle. But, for Christmas we decided to go for the bigger size on our porch and we are so glad we did! These lanterns are just so good!! They are perfect for around your fireplace mantle inside and obviously we love them for the outside living spaces too! We love that they take up some space and bring so much warmth in with the flickering battery-operated candles.

Christmas Wreath
Oh my word!! We were skeptical when we ordered this wreath because the picture looks great, but it’s only $22.00. We honestly expected it to look too cheap looking and we would have to send it back. But, it is beautiful!! If you are looking for a very affordable wreath, then this is it! This has a green dominant presence, but also the mix of the red berries and pinecones which we love. It’s 28 inches in size and would work great not only on the front door, but your fireplace mantle. We love using wreaths on all of our doors and windows. It really just adds so much!
Vintage Hanging Bells
We love us some Christmas bells. They are so cute hanging from the mantle, sled, wreath, etc. When we saw these, we couldn’t resist. We wanted to try the natural looking wreath and the bells to see if we liked it. Well, by no surprise, we loved it!! We love the simplicity of it. These Christmas bells could literally be used in a number of places and that’s what we plan to do.
Log Holder
Our log holder we couldn’t link, but we love this one! We love how much the log holder and logs brought to our outside area. This would also look so good inside at your fireplace or if you have an outside fireplace area as well. What we love about it, is that you get the look and feel with no clean up!
Birch Logs
We love our logs so much!! The unfinished wood look is perfect for the look and feel we are wanting. We keep these on our inside fireplace as well and just love how easy it is to use for decor. Six come in a bundle, but you can always get more than one bundle to get your holder or basket as full as you like.
Sled
Our sled is old, so we weren’t able to link our exact one. But, honestly we are loving this one even more. We love the color and the size of it. It also comes in a red option. As well as a large and small size. So, there are five different options to buy.
Pillows
You can’t have empty seating outside. We love to cozy things up with some cute pillows. In the winter you aren’t sitting outside much unless you are around the fire, but that shouldn’t stop you from making it look cozy. Pillows instantly make an area feel warm and inviting. It’s something SO EASY to do that will make an impression. We are obsessed with these retro Christmas plaid pillow covers. They come in four different color options and four different sizes. We went with the 18×18.
Pillow Inserts
Every pillow cover has to have a pillow insert. So here are the best from Amazon. Also, a little tip: Always get one size bigger in the pillow than you do in the cover. That way you will have a full nice-looking finish.
Throw Blanket
This is the same throw that we have, but in red. Ours was titled Xmas green and they no longer have it. I would double check though, because I figure they will keep restocking it up until Christmas. We love this knitted throw that we used over our chair with our pillows. It’s so inviting and just makes such a great transition area that will make your guest want to see inside.
BONUS: YARD DECOR
How gorgeous is this 33-foot LED Christmas tree! It has 8,000 LED lights. so you will be sure to be noticed by the neighbors. The lighting is a warm white, but also comes in a multi-color.
Your kids or grandkids will love you for this one. It’s a 6-foot inflatable bear and penguin. Keep things fun and bright with this cute little yard decor.
Here’s a fun and bright way to dress up your sidewalks. It comes as a set of 12 and it consists of 60 warm lights. There’s no way that your guest will have any trouble finding their way to the front door, but in a stylish way.
This is a set of 3 pre-lit 2D reindeer family. It’s so cute! We love the added little bows on them.
The same company as the reindeer also has this snowman family set. We felt like it needed its spotlight of its own. It’s so cute and what we love is that it’s not too large to take away from the front of the home in its entirety, but it’s also not too small not to be noticed.
