Farmhouse Bedroom Ideas
1. Bed Area
When you walk into your room the thing that takes up the most space is your bed. So, when styling your bedroom, you want to make sure that the place that catches your eye first is trendy and beautiful. You want it to replicate the style that you are hoping to accomplish in your room. With that being said, we are just going to style a modern farmhouse bedroom so that it will give you some ideas. It’s one thing telling you what to do and another showing you what we would do.
Starting out with the bed frame. We chose this wood & cane headboard from Hearth & Hand. We absolutely love the contrast between the two and the natural colors, making it easy to bring other pieces into the room.
Next, would be picking out a bed spread to compliment this gorgeous headboard. Truly, starting this room off with a natural headboard piece the options are endless, but we like to keep things soft and bright. So, we have selected this three-piece comforter set from Hearth & Hand. We want to bring in some blue accents, so we chose this beautiful blue and cream striped set and a large lumbar pillow to complete the look.
The last thing for the bed area would be to add a large size rug and cute nightstands. We chose to just go with the matching nightstands to the headboard. They are absolutely darling and bring in so much charm. The rug we chose is a blue jute area rug to bring in some more color that will flow effortlessly with the comforter.
Your bed area is now styled to perfection. We’ll add some accessories in a minute, but to style your bed you really don’t have to complicate things. You have your base in the rug, a stylish headboard and matching nightstands, comforter, and accent pillow. Wasn’t that easy?
2. Wall Accents
When decorating your wall, it doesn’t always have to just be picture frames or wall art. Adding things like curtains, wall mirror, and a blanket ladder are also all things that will also do that. Sometimes less is more. It doesn’t take much time when you live somewhere to clutter things up, so keep that in mind. Don’t be afraid to keep things light and airy. You definitely don’t have to have something in every nook and cranny.
We are going to start off with some beautiful lace trim ivory curtains to dress up the area. Also, a gorgeous gold curtain rod to enhance the charm.
Something everyone needs in their bedroom is a full length mirror. It’s better to have one than to ask the advice of your husband. We are only kidding, kinda! It fills up some space and is completely necessary for your bedroom. If you don’t have one, you will love having one!
Another cute idea is wooden floating shelves. We honestly have these all throughout our house because they are cute and easy to decorate. Ours, my husband actually made but there are a lot of places that sell some of all different finishes and sizes. These are such a cute option from Target. You can put greenery, flowers, candles, or whatever you want on them to make such a cute little area in your room.
Another very simple decorating idea is a wall blanket ladder and cute blanket to go on it. It’s so easy to implement and is absolutely darling. Now remember we are showing you all ideas from Target, but a lot of these things you can find in different places. We are just wanting to show you a visual of all of our ideas for your modern farmhouse bedroom.
We showed you ways out of the box to decorate your walls, now you will share some simple wall art that could work in any farmhouse bedroom color pallet. We love these simple pieces that can be plugged in anywhere.
3. Counter Accessories
We are going to wrap this up with the fun counter accessories that make your room pop. We have put together the bed, decorated the walls, and now for the fun part, we will add small accents for your counters.
First, let’s start with some lamps for your nightstands. Like I mentioned earlier, you don’t have to do too much. We have enough junk in our lives that it may feel nice to walk into a simple bedroom layout. For your nightstands a lamp and clock are enough. You can always add more, but you don’t have to.
The other three things we love to use are old books, floral/greenery, and candles. These three things can always be used to add a little bit of life and color. We have collected some of our moms and grandmas’ books over the years which are sentimental and also great for decorating. The flowers and greenery are the best and simplest decorating piece for every room in your home. Lastly, who doesn’t love to walk into a room that smells good? Candles are also just a great piece to place on a stack of books, etc.
So, we are just going to show you some cute bookends we found that would be great on your floating shelves or other counter area and a couple of our favorite floral pieces from Target.
We hope that we were able to share with you some inspiration for your modern farmhouse bedroom. When decorating your space, always remember to fill it with things that you love and when you walk into your room you will be happy.
