Traditional Farmhouse Living Room
Here you will see that we have a completely open floor plan, keeping everything open. I had always wanted to be able to talk to people in the living room while I was in the kitchen cooking or cleaning. So, when we did the remodel, this was a necessity to me. When you are in the living room you can see the entrance, the kitchen, and the dining room. With leather couches, cloth chairs, and a black modern bench, you see the traditional pieces mixed with a touch of modern. We have a big family, so we needed enough seating for eight adults and six kids and counting. There is more than enough seating for our entire family. We love to decorate our walls with pictures of our family, decorative signs, and a ladder that holds all of my seasonal decorative blankets.

What is not to love about a metal wood and metal ladder? We try to change out the throws with every season. It brings a pop of color and a softness to the ladder. The photo gallery is one of our favorite spots. We try to change out the photos and keep them up to date. Does this always happen? Absolutely not, but we try!
We needed something to fill the space below our photo gallery, so we used this black modern bench that we enjoy decorating with seasonal pillows and a throw. The area below the photo gallery was so blank and this bench was the perfect choice.

At the entrance of the house, we added a corner seating area. Also, we made the entrance wall an accent shiplap wall with farmhouse lighting. This is another great space to decorate with seasonal pillows and decor. Unfortunately, our chair is about four years old and no longer in stock , but have found some similar options that I’ll link below. This chair was one of the very first items we purchased when we did the remodel. Some pieces of furniture become your favorite piece and this chair is one of them for us.

To the side of our cream accent chair, we added these stools below our window. Our foyer being connected to our living room, we needed to try to separate the areas by styling both spaces individually. But, in a way that it will all blend and co-exist with each other. We had our small dining room table with four chairs in this space at one time, but it was in front of the window and we didn’t want the window blocked. These stools are perfect for this space. You can either use these stools for extra seating when needed or for decorative pieces. They would also be adorable at the end of a bed in your bedroom. I personally like putting decor on them and having them available for seating if necessary.

I love vintage furniture pieces. This piece with my lamp and decor on it was my mother’s. Nothing is better than the glow of a lamp on an end table. This table brings so much sentimental value to the space and character. I love the color and shape of this table. We always love stacking books with added greenery on all of the end tables. It’s such an easy way to style your home. We wanted a recliner, but also didn’t want an eye sore to our space, so we were lucky enough to find this cream cloth recliner that blends with the style of our living room. We bought our recliner several years ago, but we still love it.

You have probably noticed by now that almost every corner in my living room you have some seating, a lamp, and some sort of greenery. We like to stick to the basics. You will also find several baskets all throughout the house with either decorative seasonal pillows or some more greenery. I also love filling an empty corner space with my favorite olive tree. Nothing can fill a space better than a beautiful olive tree. Greenery is much needed in your farmhouse home. It adds color and coziness. The flameless tapered candles on the mantel have become favorites of ours. They are so realistic and so easy to use. They are operated with a remote and it doesn’t come any easier than that for us.
